Brow Grooming Made Easy

Hey Beauties ! In this blog post, I wanted to give you some helpful brow grooming tips! If by some chance you couldn’t make it to your brow stylist in time for that important event, date, or meeting and needed to freshen them up yourself or if you were thinking about maintaining them yourself in-between your visits to your brow stylist, you'll have the tools and skills you need! Let’s dive in!

Step 1: Tools

To groom your brows effectively, you'll need a few essential tools. These include a pair of sharp slant-tip tweezers, a spoolie brush, a pair of small brow scissors, a white makeup pencil, of course great lighting, a large mirror and plenty of time so you’re not rushing

Step 2: Brow Design

Before you begin grooming your brows, it's important to map out your unique brow design. This will allow you to create the perfect brow shape for your face. Start by placing your spoolie brush against the side of your nose allowing the tip of the spoolie brush to rest on your forehead. The start of your brow should begin where the edge of the bristles land, draw a vertical dash line here with your white pencil so you do not remove any hair within the line.

Next, line the spoolie brush with the outside edge of your iris, where the brush touches your brow is where your arch is located, make a vertical dash line at your arch with your white pencil. Then, hold the spoolie brush diagonally from the edge of your nostril to the outer corner of your eye up to your brow, the point where the spoolie brush touches your brow is where your brow should end make another vertical dash line here so you know not to tweeze too much and your brows aren’t too short. Finally, using your white pencil draw a line from the inner to the outer point along the bottom edge of the brow. Below this line marks the stray hairs to be removed.

Step 3: Tweeze

Now that you have the perfect brow blueprint you can get to work. Stand or sit comfortably in front of your mirror so you have a good view of your brow hairs. Using your slant-tip tweezers, carefully tweeze any stray hairs that fall outside of your mapped out brow design. Start by tweezing a row of hair at a time on the bottom of your brow (the area between your brow and lid) work from your nose moving toward your arch then toward the tail (the end of your brow).

I suggest not tweezing above your natural brow line (the area between your brow and forehead) as this may change the natural shape of your brows if too much hair is removed.

Remember, tweeze in the direction of the hair growth, and take breaks in between to assess your progress and ensure symmetry. Repeat this process one row at a time to avoid over tweezing until you have a neat and clean brow.

Step 4: Trim

Now that you have clean brows, using your spoolie brush, brush your brow hairs upward toward your forehead. With your small brow scissors, trim any long hairs that extend beyond your natural brow line. Be cautious not to cut too much, as it can take time for the hair to grow back. Brush your brows back into place and you’re now ready to hit the streetz !

By following these steps and using the right tools, you will easily achieve beautifully groomed brows at home. Remember to take your time, be patient, and follow the natural shape of your brows. With a little practice and consistency, you'll soon have perfectly groomed brows that frame your face beautifully. So, go ahead and give your brows the attention they deserve!
